America’s deadliest national park

Lake Mead has been ranked as America’s deadliest national park Visitors to Lake Mead National Recreation Area have a 1-in-307,000 chance of dying. Outside magazine made the analysis based on fatalities over the past 10 years. Between 2006 and September 2016, 271 people lost their lives at the 1.5 million-acre park. The top causes of death at Lake Mead are: Drownings Natural causes Motor vehicle crashes Unknown causes Suicide Boating accidents A small percentage of fatalities seem to involve alcohol. Windy weather tends to be a much bigger factor. Yosemite National Park ranked as the second deadliest park. Grand Canyon National Park ranked third.
